Sell More This Summer with These Surprising Tips

What would you say if I told you to make it a goal to not just increase your sales this summer, but to double your sales over last year?

How does that make you feel?  Excited? Terrified? A little sick?!

Too often I see entrepreneurs (especially women entrepreneurs) selling themselves short when it comes to setting goals and moving their business forward.

They might set a goal to increase sales by 10 percent, or to sell just a few more units, products, or services. Or, worse still, they might say, “I always experience a summer slump. Things will pick up in the fall,” and not set any goals at all!

As someone who cares about the success of your business (yes, I really do!), I want to challenge you to think bigger.

I want to prove to you that you can double your sales this summer, and so I’ve created a free Double Your Sales Starter Kit — which is just a taste of our second annual Double Your Summer Sales Challenge I’ll be running for my Business Class members starting Monday, July 2nd, 2018.  Click here to learn how to join Business Class and join the challenge.

So what do you need to know double your sales this summer?  It actually boils down to three very important tips — and they may not be what you think!

Tip No. 1: Set goals

First of all, you have to actually set a goal. Not just some pie in the sky “that might be nice” sort of thought you have while sitting by the pool, but an actual number, written down somewhere, and with steps to back it up.

When you look at your performance history from summers past, it’s easy to assume that the slump is inevitable.  If your sales dropped last July, they’re likely to drop this July, right?

But that’s not the way to think at all!

There’s no reason to set your goals low just because sales have dipped in the past.  Instead, set a big goal to double your sales! Challenge yourself not to accept the status quo.

During the Double Your Summer Sales Challenge, we’re going to be pushing you to get out of your comfort zone with mini challenges to earn an extra $50, $100, or $500 in a day for your business! We’ll also be creating a leaderboard for some accountability and friendly competition inside the Business Class group.

And speaking of accountability…

Tip No. 2: Partner up

As independent as we are, most of us find it easier to be accountable to a partner than to ourselves.

Working alone, it’s easy to convince ourselves that there are more important things we might be doing than the activities that will help double our sales. But when you tell somebody else that you’re going to do it, suddenly there’s an extra level of accountability!

That’s why, inside the Double Your Summer Sales Challenge, we’re going to challenge you to find an accountability partner and maybe even a cross-promotional partner to help get your offers in front of a new audience. You’ll also have a BIG accountability partner in the whole group.

And we love to celebrate each other’s wins.  Just look at what some of last year’s participants are saying:

Tip No. 3: Avoid your comfort zone

Have you ever said, “I already know that,” or “That won’t work for me,” when presented with a business idea?

Well, let this be your invitation to stop it! The best opportunities always happen just a little outside your comfort zone. But it’s very easy to dismiss these ideas — even if we haven’t tried them — because they feel uncomfortable for one reason or another.

Whether it’s emailing your list more often, making a new offer, running a beta program, putting something on sale, or going on Facebook live, the Double Your Summer Sales Challenge is going to encourage you to get outside your comfort zone and try new things to drive sales.

This year we’ve got three new tracks to meet you exactly where you are in your business — so that old “That won’t work for me” excuse doesn’t fly. No matter which track you choose, we’ve got a ton of suggestions for things you can try, but we’ll also be brainstorming as a group and sharing our ideas. That means you won’t be getting just my ideas on how to drive sales, but the ideas of hundreds of other savvy business women.
